Soft skills

In order to develop your personality in addition to your professional knowledge, you will have to obtain 8 ECTS credits in the context of so-called soft skills.

The House of Competence offers a wide range of seminars on generic competences categorised into five core topics (SP1-SP5).
You can choose seminars (2 or 3 ECTS credits) to help you improve:

  • Your self-organisation / learning organisation (SP1),

  • Your presentation or communication skills (SP2),

  • your ability to work methodically (SP3),

  • Your scientific writing style (SP4) or

  • Your ability to shape / form your future prospects (SP5).

The Language Centre offers language courses that generate 2-3 ECTS credits. For students at KIT, one course per semester is free of charge.
The languages offered are:

German courses are offered by the Studienkolleg. You have to be enrolled to attend a course
