Lots of towering cumulus clouds (Cumulus and Cumulonimbus, Cu and Cb) are in the sky above Karlsruhe. The view goes west, where a number of showers fall against the silhouette of the Palatinate Forest. The precipitation appears as a vertically oriented strip as a curtain. On May 30, 2006, strong, unstable stratified cold sea air came to southwestern Germany with a strong northern current, in which numerous showers and thunderstorms formed. The temperature in Karlsruhe did not exceed 14.0 ° C, the showers brought 5.3 mm of precipitation.
