J-WADI site is operational
We are excited to announce that all instruments have been installed, most problems solved and our J-WADI field site is now operational. Kudos to everyone who has participated in this huge effort!
During approximately three weeks, we are now conducting continuous weather and particle measurements and additionally we are collecting samples of surface and airborne particles for subsequent laboratory analysis. While working at the site, a Bedouin tent provides shelter from wind and sun to the crew (though not from the heat) and we can work on preliminary data analysis.
Our measurement site is not only attractive for our scientific goals but also for its blue skies, amazing sunsets and full moon nights. We have also gotten in contact with a local ballooning company which sometimes uses our campaign location for landing.
Let’s hope for dusty conditions in the next days.
