Young Investigator Group: Large-scale Dynamics and Predictability

Welcome to the Helmholtz Young Investigator Group “Sub-seasonal Atmospheric Predictability: Understanding the Role of Diabatic Outflow” (SPREADOUT). We investigate physical and dynamical processes that control predictability and forecast skill of the large-scale circulation on sub-seasonal (10-60 days) time scales. Specifically we focus on the role of diabatic outflow in the life cycle of Atlantic-European weather regimes.
